  43. I have had a Microvitec Multisync monitor with my 1200 for about 3 years. It
  44. dynamically autoswitches resolution.  The cost is somewhere in the region
  45. you mention. I am at work writing this but If you like I will have a look in
  46. Amiga Format for a supplier & a price.
  47. I originally used Commodores Euro72 or Multiscan Productivity modes with
  48. this monitor, but I was a little disappointed to discover that the display
  49. left a grey strip on either side. My monitor has vertical but no horizontal
  50. adjustment so I was unable to do anything about it.. To minimise the effect
  51. I used 'Neagrey' in the startup sequence, this just clears the unused
  52. display to black, which looked a lot better. However, I recently found a new
  53. version of Super72 display driver, (mail me for a copy) which I use in
  54. hi-res laced 800x600 with excellent results. The screen is now fully filled.

  56. I have seen adverts for scan doublers which claim to allow you to use
  57. cheaper PC monitors. I don't know all the pros & cons of these, perhaps
  58. someone else on the list can comment.
